Year 7 Create Maori Jewellery with Paint Patterns

Year 7 have been experimenting with some paint pouring during our art lessons. We have been looking at the colourful patterns that can be found in the Maori culture. Our aim is to create a piece of Maori inspired jewellery.

The session started with the paint pouring. Each class member was given a free choice to experiment with many different colours. These were poured on to a paper plate. They were then put to one side to dry.

The next step is to add a layer of transparent glue. This will help the plates and colours to harden. Year 7 will then cut up the designs and use them to create their Maori jewellery.
