New Choir Song Ahead of South Bank Performance

A recent Lansdowne Achievement Assembly started with Mr Jukes asking how we should move around our school. We had some helpful responses such as walking single file down the stairs and looking out for the younger students.

The Lansdowne Choir then performed two songs. Our first number was The Beatles’ All You Need is Love. This is a new song that the Choir has been working on ahead of the Lambeth Sounds Music Festival taking place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Our Choir will be be representing Lansdowne School at a concert featuring other Lambeth Schools. Three songs will be performed on stage. Lansdowne will lead the way with All You Need is Love. We have sent out a video to the other schools to help them with their signing skills.

Our second song for the Achievement Assembly was RESPECT.

Mr Jukes commented:

“This is a great way to start a Friday morning. All you need is love and everybody deserves respect – two powerful messages from the Choir.”

Stars of the Week certificates were handed out. Kindness awards followed. Mr Jukes said that as students gain more independence, it is great that staff can give them tasks.

This week has seen three students showing a very important visitor around the school. Kindness awards were also given for a work experience presentation and helping out Wheels for Wellbeing.

The Star Class of the Week trophy was presented to Class 8AP. This was fitting as sadly Mr Paine is leaving us at the end of the week to return home to teach in Australia. Mr Jukes thanked Mr Paine for the amazing teaching and support that he has given to all students over the past two years.

Our assembly came to a close with happy birthday being sung to come celebrating students and staff.
