Year 8 2D and 3D Maths Shapes Sorting

Year 8 are learning about 2D and 3D shapes as part of our current maths lessons. The pupils have described the properties of shapes, paying attention to the number of sides and angles on each shape.

Different sorting activities have taken place. We have used common shapes that we see in our everyday lives to help with this. Examples included pizza triangles and doughnut circles.

One of the class members was able to advance this learning to have an understanding of Venn diagrams. Some extra shape types were added. 3D shape resources were used to help with the visualisation for this activity.
