Friendship Groups Celebrated in School Assembly

A group of students recently explained more about their friendship group during a school assembly. Three of the pupils meet every Tuesday with a couple of staff members to help build their interpersonal skills.

A short video was prepared for the assembly. We heard how the friendship involves talking to one another, positive behaviour and how we can be good friends. The group has a set of rules that everyone respects.

The presentation finished with students explaining who can approach if we need some help. Suggestions included friends, staff or school Councillors.

The Lansdowne Choir then performed two songs. Singing and signing took place for Umbrella and Eye of the Tiger.

Head of School Mr Jukes handed out the Stars of the Week, Kindness Awards and Proud Cloud awards. Students were rewarded for acts such as helping friends during lunch, tidying up after school and improving their communication skills.

Class 13RM was presented with the Star Class of the Week trophy. Our assembly came to a close by singing Happy Birthday to students and staff that are celebrating this week.
