The Lansdowne School Council met recently to confirm the arrangements for the final few weeks of the summer term. This is a busy time at Lansdowne School with many events taking place.
Head of School Mr Jukes reminded the Cllr’s of some of the key dates.
Summer Fair on 6th July
Leaver’s Assembly and BBQ on 12th July and
the whole school trip to Hampton Court Palace on 19th July.
School Council discussed some further details for each event. The Summer Fair will help to raise some money to buy some bicycles for the pupils to use after school.
The catering arrangements were discussed for the Leaver’s BBQ. This will include a halal option.
The Cllr’s were then asked to share any ideas that they have been asked to raise from their class friends. One of the Year 12 students asked about the possibility of a dedicated Sixth Form relaxation area. Mr Jukes reminded pupils that the library area is currently available.
Another suggestion was how to make the best use of space during whole school assemblies. There was a reminder that the school is holding a Bake Sale on 27th June. Finally School Council heard how some of the students will be working with our friends at Art4Space to create a film to showcase our magnificent Lansdowne mural.
