The 2019 Lansdowne Summer Fair was a fantastic way for our school community to come together towards the end of the term.
This was an opportunity to raise extra funds for the students. It was also the chance to socialise with everyone who helps to make our school a very special place.
Many of the stalls were set up under the initiative of the students. Games such as the Wheel of Fortune and the cake stall were ideas that came from the pupils. They followed this through with the preparation, and then managing the stall themselves on the day.
There was a delicious selection of cakes being sold at a very decent price. Food tech teacher Miss Anderson has worked with the students throughout the week to help plan and prepare. The students were given a free choice when it came to selecting a cake to bake.
Elsewhere and we had strong support from within our local community. We are always happy to welcome Solomon from the Brixton Soup Kitchen to Lansdowne. Solomon is a very kind friend of the school who volunteered to run the BBQ throughout the afternoon.
The school Enterprise Club was also represented selling some of the crafts made during the after school club. The Summer Fair raffle had a table containing some top prizes for the lucky winners.
We would like to thank the many staff members who kindly volunteered their weekend time to help out. Thank you as well to all the pupils, parents and carers who came along to our 2019 Summer Fair.
