Year 10 Maths Fun Ahead of Living Numbers Learning

Year 10 had plenty of fun during their first Living Numbers lesson. This is a new initiative that has been introduced to the Lansdowne curriculum for the 2019 school year. The aim is to help the students in with their everyday money skills and number recognition.

We started our first lesson with a fun game of snakes and ladders. Class teacher Lisa tested the pupils on the rules. We remembered ideas such as having an extra go if you throw two matching numbers with the dice. The students used their counting skills to move around the board.

Future Living Numbers lessons will see the students taking part in real life money handling situations. Role play involving cafes, supermarkets and the cinema will be set up. The pupils will rotate the roles between customer and cashier.
