Y9 Recap on First Week of Learning of New School Term

The new Year 9 students are working on their vocabulary skills during our daily guided reading sessions. The aim is to improve speaking skills and our use of sentences. Class teacher Lisa sets a new topic at the start of each morning to help develop these skills.

A recent session encouraged the class members to talk about their first week back at Lansdowne School after the summer break. Students took it in turns to talk about what they have enjoyed about being back at school, and where they can make improvements.

This was also a valuable listening exercise for the other students. They were given the chance to question their friends to get some more detail.

We were able to hear about favourite lessons of the week, cooking kale chips in food tech and picking up some new PE skills.

Year 9 then watched the daily News Round video. Questions followed about some of the current affairs events.
