The Year 8 pupils are practicing their bat and ball skills during PE lessons. The students are focussing on the game of rounders to help with this learning.
Three work stations were set up in the school gym. Pairs of pupils passed a small and a large ball between each other. We used a soft ball to help build up the confidence of the class members.
Another activity involved pitching and hitting a soft ball. One player took responsibility for pitching the ball. The other team player was asked to make contact with the ball and direct it around the gym.
Year 8 are building up to playing a full on game of outdoors rounders. PE teacher Mr Howgate is teaching the pupils the different rules ahead of our first game.
