Year 10 Living Numbers Trip to the Local Shops

Year 10 are enjoying their new living numbers lessons. The aim is to use our maths knowledge in real life situations.

The students recently took part in a shopping trip to the local community. Planning took place in the classroom beforehand.

A small budget was made available. Class teacher Lisa asked the pupils what their preferences would be for a snack. Consideration was also given to buying food or drink that could be shared.

It was then time to head to the local shops. The students were asked to follow instructions and stay together as a group.

Choices were made in the shop. One of the students was responsible for paying for the snacks and collecting the change. We thanked the shop assistant for her help.

Our snacks were enjoyed together back in the classroom. The pupils recapped on the sequence of events involved in buying our treats.
