Year 9 Work on Improving Kwik Cricket Skills

Year 9 are putting into practice their kwik cricket skills. Coaching has taken place since the start of term to help improve the techniques needed to succeed.

Work stations have included:

Throwing – pupils were asked to pick up a rolling ball and throw it at a target.

Low defensive shots – the ball was hit with the bat along the ground. We have seen how this is a safe shot as a fielder can’t catch us out.

Rebound – students used a rebound frame to catch a ball.

This learning was then used during a class game of kwik cricket. Year 9 were asked to think about team work whilst fielding.

The session finished with a self-assessment. Each class member was asked to comment on what they had done well, and how they can improve during the next session.
