The Year 13 students are researching the planets as part of our science learning. We are focussing on the relationship between earth, the moon and the sun.
Each class member has created an orrery to help visualise this relationship. This is a model that shows the distance between the earth, moon and sun, as well as the direction of orbit.
The orrery is a great way to show how the moon orbits around the earth, and the earth orbits around the sun.
Some careful cutting was required to assemble our models. The students added some facts about the earth, moon and sun to their designs.
