Making Textile Tie-Dye Bags in Year 8

Year 8 are close to completing their textile tie-dye bags. The aim was to design our own bags and then use textiles to make them.

We have explored different techniques to create tie-dye effects. The pupils experimented with placing elastic bands on the fabric ahead of adding the dye.

The main part of our design involved the first letter of our name sewn on to the front of our bags. Buttons were also sewn into the fabric to add an extra design element.

The pupils will use the sewing machines to stitch the different parts of our bags together. The final task will be to attach the handles that were created during our recent session.
