New Girls’ Group Set up to Encourage Mentor Scheme

We are proud to share some of the work from the new Girls’ Group that has been set up at Lansdowne School. The aim is for some of the older female students to buddy up with younger girls and support them in their learning.

Our current focus is to design and create and some items that can be sold at the Lansdowne Winter Fair. The girls discussed their ideas and what they wanted to achieve.

It was decided that our group would design and make some tie-dye T-shirts and bags. Staff members Mikita and Maria demonstrated the techniques we can use to create different tie-dye designs.

Some great communication skills took place between the older and younger pupils. The Year 7 students are learning that they can ask their buddies for help whenever it is needed.
