Year 9 are creating some impressive pop art models during our current art lessons. We have looked at the work of the artist Claes Oldenburg. The American sculptor is known for designing large scale models of food.
Our Lansdowne pop art focussed on our favourite sweets. The students were asked to choose a sweet design to model their work on.
Cardboard and paper mache were then used to build our designs. Problem solving skills were needed to create replica models. The pupils took great care to match the exact same colour designs and branding with our painting.
