Lansdowne Students Create Christmas Cards for Fayre

The Lansdowne art department has had a busy run up to the Christmas period. In addition to the exam curriculum focus, some of the students have worked on producing items that were sold at the Lansdowne Winter Fayre.

The Winter Fayre cards were made using flowers and leaves from our playground. These were then pressed for two weeks.

The colourful cards were made using tissue paper to create Papel Picado technique used in the Day of the Dead Mexican Celebration. Some other cards were made using ink drops on wet paper and letting it dry as the ink expands.

Fridge magnets were made using jar lids to pour paint in and then varnished and a magnet added. Students also made tree decorations, using yarn to sew on chosen shapes to their jute fabric and then sewn on beads around the edge of the shape.
