Plenty to Celebrate in Lansdowne Achievement Assembly

The Lansdowne School Choir helped to get a recent Achievement assembly off to the perfect start. An uplifting version of Stand By Me was performed by the Choir. Rehearsals take place each week to help improve our singing and signing.

Head of School Mr Juckes then praised the students from Years 11, 12 and 13 who are currently taking part in our work experience programme. Pupils are on placements in sectors including marketing, computer games and sports coaching. Superb feedback has come from the employers.

Stars of the Week certificates were handed out to pupils who have produced outstanding work with a positive attitude.

It was then time for the Kindness awards. Each week a selection of pupils are rewarded for showing generous acts in helping others. We heard how friends have been helpful to one another by showing support during lessons.

Our assembly then heard plans for the new Lansdowne library. This will be installed next month. All pupils have taken part in a survey to find out what type of books we would like to see in our new space. Miss Wawrzyniak and Miss Pappa were thanked for organising this project.

The Star Class of the Week was presented to Class 12RM. They achieved 100% of their ticks in the past week. Our assembly closed with Happy Birthday being sung and signed out to students and staff who are celebrating this week.
