Achievement Assembly Reminders on How to Keep Safe

A recent Landsdowne achievement assembly started with Head of School Mr Juckes asking what the current major news story is. We had no shortage of answers with the Corona virus being identified.

Mr Juckes asked the students how we can prevent the spread within our school. Many of the pupils were able to explain the importance of washing our hands.

Mr Juckes reminded everyone that we need to wash our hands at the start of every lesson, before we eat our food and after we have finished eating. Extra washing facilities are available in every classroom.

Science teacher Miss McNie demonstrated the correct way to wash your hands. Mr Juckes added that we can stay safe if we all work together to follow these instructions.

It was then time for the Landsdowne Choir to lighten the mood with a fantastic performance of Jump. Staff member Michael added some wonderful piano accompaniment.

Sadly it was then time to say farewell to three very popular staff members. Michael, Holly and Jack are all moving on to new adventures in the weeks ahead.

The Stars of the Week were invited to the front of the assembly. Each week class teachers nominate pupils who have produced outstanding work. This also includes activities such as swimming and life skills areas that support ongoing social skills.

Mr Juckes presented the Kindness awards. We heard how some people have been a great role model during the yoga sessions. Other students were thanked for sharing their badges and school iPads.

The Class of the Week was Class 13BA. They achieved a magnificent 100% of their ticks for each lesson.
