Year 9 students are working on their colourful designs involving the Day of the Dead. This is part of a project looking at Mexican art.
The first task was to paint the base colour on the large cardboard skulls. Eyes and nose features were then added.
We then planned what other designs we would like to use on our masks. Detailed drawings were sketched out in our art books. Some of the ideas included flowers, hearts and insects.
These designs were then transferred onto our masks. The pupils were told to think about the painting technique. Instructions were to stay within the lines of each facial feature.
