Year 8 are working on the theme of movement as part of their art and textiles learning. We have seen how 3-D designs can add movement to our artwork.
Each class member has designed and made a wire puppet. We sculptured the body using a wire frame. Papier-mâché was then used to model the outlines of the bodies.
The pupils designed the look of their puppets. They choose a pacific character, and then thought about the colour scheme.
The final part of this project will be to prove our puppets move. Certain tasks will be set. We will need to demonstrate that our puppets can walk, as well as acting out scenes from a play.
