Lansdowne Weekly Achievement Assembly

One of the highlights of the Landsdowne School week is our whole school Achievement Assembly. We are making the most of the current teaching arrangements and holding these online every Friday.

Head of School Mr Juckes leads the assemblies. A recent theme was the International Day of Peace.

We watched a short presentation looking at the life of Dr Martin Luther King. Mr Juckes introduced new vocabulary such as segregation and boycott.

All pupils were asked to consider some questions set during the assembly as part of our own tutorial time.

One of these was why is it important that we stand up for civil rights? A follow-up question was what would you like to happen to make the world a better place?

The online assembly also included the Landsdowne Stars of the Week certificates. A pupil from each key stage is awarded a certificate for outstanding work in a particular subject..

The Class of the Week trophy was awarded to Class 12EM. This was in recognition of their high tick count for the week.

Mr Juckes reminded all students that the elections for the Head Girl and Head Boy would be taking place soon. Any Year 11 pupils who wish to be considered are invited to prepare a short video presentation for a future assembly.

The assembly came to a close with the weekly roundup of birthdays that are being celebrated at Landsdowne School this week.
