Science learning in Year 10 is looking at how different parts of our body function. The current focus is on our circulatory system.
The students have completed an experiment to look at the impact of exercise on our heart rate. We are all skilled in finding out pulse, and then monitoring it over a short period of time.
The class members took their pulse count for 30 seconds whilst resting. They then used their maths skills and doubled this to find a figure for one minute.
We logged the results of all class members, and then found out the average resting pulse count.
The next stage of our experiment will involve repeating this exercise after we have taken some physical activity. The students will then create a graph to show the results of their findings.
