Autumn Term Maths Learning in Year 7

The Year 7 students are working well across a range of different maths activities. Each pupil has their own learning targets. The class members are also focusing on having a calm and productive learning environment.

Some of the pupils are improving their maths skills by counting objects such as dinosaurs. Some of the higher learners are working on multiplication sums. They use the number grid method to help with this.

The final group have advanced to multiplication and division word problems. A key theme here is to think about what is being asked in the question.

Each maths lesson ends with the traffic light assessment. The pupils are asked to rate the level of difficulty they found with their work. This helps our teaching team to plan and structure future activities that are focused for each pupil.
