Year 13+ Students Focus on Skills and Personal Qualities

The Year 13+ students are working on a careers project that will help them to understand better their own skills and qualities. The aim is to prepare the students so they can use their selling points and take this further in the world of work and education.

Each student was asked to identify their top to personal qualities, as well as their skill sets. We spoke about the difference between personal qualities and practical work skills.

Some written work took place. The students wrote a short paragraph to expand on their ideas.

Class friends were also asked to write down some compliments about their friends. We found that sometimes it can be tricky to recognise our own skills.

The final task was to think about how we can improve our personal qualities and skills. The students listed different ways in which they can work on making themselves as best equipped as possible for future learning and work.
