Y12 Work with Roots and Shoots in Lansdowne Garden

Year 12 are continuing with their regular sessions with our friends from Roots and Shoots in Kennington. This is a college which helps pupils to understand and learn more about plants and growth.

We have enjoyed our regular visits to the college. We are now welcoming some of the Roots and Shoots team to Landsdowne School to help us prepare our own growing patches.

Work will continue to out the summer term with the Year 12 students preparing the patch for flowers and vegetable growth. An early session involved an assessment of what we have to work with. We were able to identify some of the vegetables that are already growing.

Plenty of weeding was required ahead future planting. Year 12 spent an entire session preparing the site. We are hopeful of growing courgettes, runner beans and lettuce over the coming weeks.
