Independence and Enterprise Skills from Year 12

Independent skills for the Year 12 students recently involved planning and ordering a takeaway meal. This was a treat for all the hard work the students have completed during the summer term. Plus we also had four birthdays to celebrate!

The first task was to look at the various menus online. Each class member was asked to make a choice, and describe the reasons for their selection.

It was then time to order our lunch. ICT skills were needed as the orders were made online. Plus we were able to show our maths knowledge by working to a budget for the meal.

The food was delivered to the school and the Year 12 students were able to enjoy a fun meal together.

Elsewhere in Year 12 and our enterprise lessons have seen the students designing and creating badges and fridge magnets. These were either hand drawn or featured images that we found online.
