Year 7 are researching different inventors as part of their science curriculum. We have started by looking at Thomas Edison. We compared some of his inventions with modern day household appliances.
Each class member has answered some questions about the life story of Edison. We used a word bank to fill in the gaps of a passage about his life story.
We are also looking at the scientific inventions of Washington Sheffield. He was responsible for inventing toothpaste. The pupils have identified how and when we should clean our teeth.
A final research topic for this term is to look at temperature. The class members are learning about absolute zero. We have seen that Lord Calvin first identified this extreme temperature.
This has led to a class discussion about hot and cold countries. We will conclude this work by looking at different states of matter, covering solids, liquids and gases.
