Halloween Theme for Year 12 PowePoint Presentations

Computer science learning in Year 12 has taken on a Halloween theme. The students are preparing a PowerPoint presentation about why we celebrate this occasion.

We started our session by watching a short introduction video. This explained the history of Halloween dating back to pre-Roman times.

Our learning objective was to carry out a word search involving some of the key ideas that we associate with Halloween.

All students worked independently. They have their own logins for the school network. Year 12 also accessed Google Classrooms where the preprepared PowerPoint template was stored.

Our first task was to create and save a copy of this template. It was then time to add in our own ideas. We searched for some of the words online. Images and gifs were copied into our personal PowerPoint. Each Halloween word has a short description added to the slide.

We also have some Halloween pumpkins in our class. These were kindly carved by other students at Lansdowne School as part of their Roots and Shoots learning sessions.
