Year 8 are exploring different musical instruments with our expert teacher Miss Kirstie. Our lessons start up with a warmup. The class members are asked to choose from a selection of the percussion instruments available.
A short session focusing on our drumming skills then followed. We use the African drums and listen to the different sounds they can make. The students are asked to follow the patterns being made by Miss Kirstie.
It was then time to introduce the ukuleles. These are the ideal instruments for the students to learn. They are a very friendly size and can produce an amazing sound. We combined the drums and played a simple chord and drum pattern.
Our session came to a close with a game of Guess the Song. We raised the difficulty each time as Miss Kirstie played some of our favourite songs on the guitar.
