Year 13 Students Bake Festive Gingerbread Biscuits

The Year 13 students recently baked some seasonal gingerbread men biscuits during their food tech time. This learning has the aim of creating greater independence for all students when using the Landsdowne kitchen space.

The class members know their first task is to wash their hands and find their aprons. They then listened to the instructions that were given.

The first task was to roll our gingerbread dough. The students were asked to judge what the most suitable thickness would be for cutting out the gingerbread designs.

They were then given a choice about which cutting shapes they would like to use. As well as the gingerbread men we had some other festive themed shapes available.

The final task was to decorate our gingerbread cookies once they had been baked. Some of the Year 13 students were able to use the piping bag. We also added in other decorations to add a little colour to our gingerbread biscuits.
