Life Skills and Independent Travel Planning in Year 13

The Year 13 students are carrying out some travel planning as part of their life skills learning. We have been thinking about the people in our community who look after us. Some examples include police officers, fire people and ambulance drivers.

Each student has completed various table activities. They have matched up some of these jobs with the correct vehicles that are needed.

We are also learning about road safety in our community. The students have completed a work sheet identifying what is safe, and what is unsafe. We will use these skills when we next have the opportunity to explore our local neighbourhood.

The next stage for this learning is for the class members to go on a local shopping trip. We have been working in class to create a shopping list for the ingredients we will need. The pupils are going to be treated to an end of half term chocolate and banana snack.
