Recent ICT work for the Year 11 students has looked at how we can format images. We are using characters from Harry Potter as the main theme for this work.
Our learning started with a couple of picture quizzes being completed online. The students were introduced to new vocabulary such as cropping, filters and formatting. They were encouraged to explore these techniques to see how they could alter the appearance of some of the images.
We then had some online tasks to complete. We use characters from Harry Potter, and then cropped these down. The images were manipulated with new colours and filters being added.
The final challenge was to find some gifs related to our subject matter. We saw how we need to save these locally to our machines, and then upload them once again into our work documents.
These techniques will help the Year 11 students as they become more confident in creating powerful online presentations.
