Year 12 Student Shares Employment Advice in Assembly

The Year 11 to 13 students recently enjoyed an achievement assembly with a work experience theme. Head of school Mr Juckes explained that some students have already completed their work experience.

Lansdowne School is proud to have sent students out to a local bicycle shop, a Day Nursery, and the Royal Trinity Hospice Charity shop. Future placements for Year 12 and Year 13 students are being arranged before the end of half term.

Mr Juckes invited a brave Year 12 student to the front of the assembly. He took part in a mock interview situation He has already been able to secure his own weekend paid employment working at a five star hotel in Chelsea.

Some fantastic tips were passed on. We heard about the importance of looking professional in your workplace. The student spoke about setting an example by always been punctual and taking an interest in his work.

“It has helped me to become a more mature person. I feel I have gained extra confidence and have made my family proud.”

Start of the Week certificates were then handed out. We were also were able to pass on some Kindness Awards for pupils who have been polite and have helped others around our school.
