The students were able to learn some new vocabulary. This included unrequited, paradox and cliche. We always have the dictionaries on hand to help with any new words.
The Year 9 students have also been talking about the emotions and how each character is feeling. Some great questions were asked as we looked a little deeper into their motivations.
Some of the language in Romeo and Juliet can be challenging. The students worked together to find a shared meaning.
This work will lead to the Year 9 students writing their own text based around Romeo and Juliet. We are also making some predictions about how the play might end.
