Year 7 Catch up Grant – £10,714
To ensure all students successfully transition from Year 6 to Year 7 through:
supporting students to improve reading, writing and speaking and listening skills across the curriculum.
Ensuring the specific Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) sensory needs of students are met.
We will achieve through:
Ensuring access to universal and targeted Speech and Language Therapy through the support of an Additional speech therapist – £8,000
Ensuring access to Occupational Therapy – £2,714
Student Outcomes for Year 7 Catch Up Grant 2017-18
To ensure all students successfully transition from Year 6 to Year 7 and continue to improve their:
Progress and levels of attainment
Communication and literacy skills
Access to the secondary curriuculum
We will achieve this through:
Ensuring access speech therapy universal and targeted Speech and Language Therapy through the support of an Additional speech therapist – £1,000
Ensuring we have an accurate baseline in reading, writing, speaking & listening, reading ages on entry.
Diagnostic reading consultant – £1,500
Ensuring access speech therapy universal and targeted speech and language support.
Additional speech therapist – £1,000
Ensuring students are supported to work independently in subject based lessons through a range of sensory and ASC strategies, such as TEACCH, SCERTS and Social Stories.
Support through the school intervention team to implement strategies and train staff in the individual student strategies – £4,000
Outcomes in English and Mathematics for the end of Year 7, 2017-18
